Stay in Your Own Yard

Marca.com is reporting today that Rio Ferdinand, a defender for Manchester United, is seriously considering ending his time with the club at the finish of this season. He'd like to follow in the footsteps of former club mate Ronaldo and join a team somewhere in Spain. Sources say Barcelona and Real Madrid are interested in the 30-yr-old Englishman, who has also played for English teams West Ham Utd. and Leeds Utd, before transferring to Man Utd in 2002.

What is it with these big shot English players suddenly wanting to play in the Spanish league? I did not want La Liga contaminated with the likes of Ronaldo, but that happened, and now Rio says he wants to come as well? Stay in your own yard! The EPL has obviously worked out for your for this long, Rio. The Spanish Premier League is not some place where you you can come on the brink of retirement and assume you're going to have an easy couple of seasons. No. That's what the MLS is for.

Why is there suddenly a mass exodus from Man Utd, anyway? Ronaldo left, Tevez went to Man City, and now Ferdinand wants to leave. Maybe Sir Alex is as big of an asshole as he seems to be. I don't know
