More Good News. Not.

Let's just press on with all of the great stories that are in the news today.

Real Madrid was named the Best European Club of the 20th Century. This was decided by the International Federation for the History and Statistics of Football (IFFHS). Teams in Europe are evaluated on a point system based on how many games they win in certain tournaments. CL wins get 8 points while ties get 4. The Copa de Ferias (Inter-Cities Fair Cup, 1955-1971) and UEFA Cup wins are worth 5 points, ties worth 2.5. The Mitropa Cup (1927-1992) and Latin Cup (1949-1957) wins are worth 4 points, 2 for a tie. Wins for the European Supercup are worth 6.5, ties worth 3.25

Real Madrid does not need any more toys like this in their toy chest! Best European club of the 20th century? Really? Great. My day got so much better because now the newspapers are going to be swamped with press conferences and quotes from all different Madrid players, current and former, talking about how proud they are and how they deserved this title. And I honestly don't want to hear any of it. It's all hot air.
