FA Charges Adebayor, Thank God

I've been following this story ever since I heard about it, mostly because I was actually watching the Real Madrid game last season when Pepe pushed Getafe captain Francisco Casquero in Real's penalty box, then proceeded to kick him in the shin and rake his cleat across Casquero's back while he was on the ground. Pepe recieved a 10-match ban, so he's still set to miss three more games with Real before he's allowed to start playing.

With that being said, I am so so very happy that Emmanuel Adebayor of Manchester City received two charges from the FA today. One was for violent conduct, when he cleated Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie in the face after a tackle. The second was for improper conduct, stringing from his over-celebration of the goal he scored against Arsenal.

Man City are unlikely to appeal the charges and the game ban that will probably follow, as they were told that had the ref seen the severity of Adebayor's actions against Van Persie, he would have been ejected immediately.

Adebayor's hate for Arsenal apparently appeared over a year ago, when he alerted Arsenal that he wanted to leave and play for a "big club," but his wishes were not granted. He might just receive a fine for the improper conduct charge if Man City can prove that he was being harassed during the game (which is BS because I'd harass him as well!)

No word yet on what his sentence is. Hopefully that will be released within the next few days so he can miss the game against Man U (this is, in fact, the one and ONLY time you will EVER hear me rooting for Man U, but i truly think my hatred Man City might burn a little deeper)
