Adebayor is Man City's Pepe

I've been told that Emmanuel Adebayor, who signed for Manchester City this summer from Arsenal, was not the greatest guy. A source who follows Arsenal closely says he's seen the striker change over the years, and this move to Man City this summer was clearly money-related.

Well, it seems like we're seeing Adebayor's true colors now. The Togo striker was shown a yellow card after he ran the entire length of the field taunting Arsenal players after he scored his goal in the 80th minute.

However, what is really getting Adebayor in trouble is his alleged actions towards former teammate Robin Van Persie. Van Persie is claiming he is the victim of a "mindless and malicious stamp."

I'm posting the video along with this, and I'm pretty sure there's no way Adebayor can argue his way out of some sort of punishment from the Football Association. He clearly aimed for Van Persie's face while "regaining his balance."

Van Persie had to be treated on the field for a gash centimeters from his eye. The ref, who at the time didn't have a clear view of the incident, didn't issue any cards.

All I can say is this is just like what Pepe did last season that got him suspended for 10 games. Guys like this shouldn't be allowed to play soccer anymore after incidents like this. Another great example is Stephen Wolf, who cracked Chelsea goalie Petr Cech's skull after slide-tackling him while "going for the ball." Now if Cech injures his head again he'll never play soccer again.

I truly hope Adebayor is handed out a hefty punishment for his actions, which would put a total of two of Man City's summer signings out of action for at least some time (Tevez didn't play this weekend and is unlikely for the game against Man U after sustaining an injury in Argentina's game against Paraguay).
