




The candidates for the FIFA World Player of the Year have been announced! Much like the Ballon d'Or, it is given who has exhibited the most talent through the year, up to December 21 when the winner is announced. Most of the candidates for the World Player of the Year mimic the candidates for the Ballon d'Or, except the Ballon d'Or can only go to a European player.
Last year Cristiano Ronaldo claimed both recognitions. This year the heavy favorite for both is Barcelona's Leo Messi.

Can we just note the absence of Dani Alves? The man is an amazing defender! How some of the nominees are on this list and Dani Alves is not is beyond me.
