Trouble in Paradise

Unless one of them makes a miraculous recovery, Real Madrid is going to be seriously hurting without the six injured players that as of right now won't be playing this weekend against Valladolid.

Ronaldo, Guti, Metzelder, Gago, Arbeloa, and Van NIstelrooy are all currently unavailable to play for Real due to injuries sustained either with their respective national teams or with Real. However, Gago, Guti, and Arbeloa are possibilities for the Champions League game next Wednesday against AC Milan.

I have to applaud these six, especially Ronaldo, for the perfect timing of their injuries. If the 2nd string Real doesn't pull through with a win, it will be the second consecutive Liga loss for the Madrid team. Based on Real president Florentino Perez's reaction to their first loss (he's already threatening to fire coach Manuel Pellegrini), I don't think he'd take too kindly to a second loss from his team.

Fortunately for Real, they can lose six players to injury and still have an awesome starting lineup. Kaka, Karim Benzema, Lass, Albiol, Marcelo, Sergio Ramos, and De la Red just to name a few. Valladolid shouldn't give them too much trouble, but one can always hope. They've already shown their Ronoaldo-dependency pretty well.
