Explain This to Me

I completely understand that Ronaldinho is (or used to be) a great player. He is (or was) really skilled with the ball and has made history as one of the soccer greats. Except for his last season at Barcelona. He hardly ever played and when he did, he was either subbed on or off. He never did much, and most definitely was not an asset to the team. For most of the season he faked injuries just so he didn't have to play.

The he leaves for AC Milan for the '08-09 season, and he still didn't play! He had 10 goals and 5 assists last season with AC Milan. Samuel Eto'o had 30 goals and 4 assists for Barcelona during the same season. Ronaldo had 26 goals and 9 assists for Manchester United. You see what I'm getting at.

To get to the point, Ronaldinho was awarded the 2009 Golden Foot. That's an award that goes to the best player of the year 29 years or older. Let's see the other candidates he beat out, and try and find a problem with the fact that he won.

Raul (Real Madrid)
Thierry Henry (Barcelona)
Francesco Totti (Roma)
Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus)
David Beckham (LA Galaxy)
Steven Gerrard (Liverpool)
Ryan Giggs (Man U)
Luis Figo (retired)
David Trezegeut (Juventus)

See what I'm saying? Ryan Giggs is a LIVING LEGEND at Manchester United. Buffon is considered one of the best goalies in the world. Thierry Henry was on fire last season for Barcelona, and Inter Milan spent almost the entire summer trying to get David Beckham to join their club permanently. Every player on this list is amazing- and they gave it to Ronaldinho.

I've lost all faith in humanity.
