All in all, everything that needed to happen on this last day of World Cup qualification happened- Argentina (barely) defeated Uruguay 1-0, Portugal beat Malta 3-0 (without Ronaldo, I might add), and Honduras qualify while Costa Rica has to play a play-off game.
My only problem with all of this good good news is that with the win for Argentina, Diego Maradona will most likely remain as coach! All of the headlines are boasting "Diego's Argentina Reaches World Cup" and things of that sort. As if they hadn't lost their last 4 away games, and their last two games! Hopefully Maradona is still skating on thin ice right now, and he'll be out before next summer. God knows Argentina needs it.
