Group E
Fiorentina 5-2 Debrecen
Much like the 4-0 beating they imposed on Debrecen last round, Fiorentina was yet again triumphant, staying only 1 point behind Lyon in the standings. Unfortunate Debrecen remains winless. Mutu, Dainelli, Montolivo, Marchionni, and Gilardino scored for Fiorentina. For Debrecen Rudolf leveled the score 1-1 and Coulibaly made the score 4-2 after 3 consecutive Fiorentina goals, but it wasn't enough.
Lyon 1-1 Liverpool
Is Rafa Benitez's head on the chopping block yet? Seriously. Liverpool didn't even score until the 83rd minute when Ryan Babel netted a gorgeous shot. However, 7 minutes later Lisandro Lopez had leveled. Liverpool only has 4 points in 3 games. They're 6 points behind Lyon, which means they're probably not getting into the next round. Some changes should probably be made.
Group F
FK Rubin Kazan 0-0 Barcelona
I have absolutely no comments regarding this game. I can't bring myself to type any, except that if you want to meet Superman, he's currently living under the alias Dani Alves. Barcelona should have won, hands down. They controlled the possession and had more shots on goal. The only excuse they have is playing in 28 degree weather in the middle of Russia. Right now Barcelona is 1 point behind Inter, and still tied with Kazan.
Inter Milan 2-1 Dynamo Kiev
Inter came from behind to secure their first win of the tournament. An two last-minute strikes from Milito and Sneijder canceled out Shevchenko's first-half goal to clinch the 3 points for Inter, who now leads the table with 6 points.
Group G
Sevilla 1-1 VfB Stuttgart
Sevilla had their win snatched out from underneath them after Kuzmanovic netted a shot in the 78th minute, canceling out Jesus Navas' 14th-minute goal. This is Sevilla's first tie of the tournament. However, they still lead the table with 10 points, 5 clear of 2nd place Unirea Urziceni
Unirea Urziceni 1-1 Rangers
The Rangers are having no luck in this tournament. In the 78th minute Lee McCulloch hit the back of the net to draw the Rangers ahead. Sadly, just 10 minutes later Marius Onofras responded and the Rangers traded 3 points for 1. In last place, the Rangers have only 2 points in 4 games.
Group H
Arsenal 4-1 AZ Alkmaar
Cesc Fabregas (25', 42'), Samir Nasri (43'), and Abou Diaby (72') were all on target before Jermaine Lens (82') could even respond. 4 points clear of 2nd place Olympiakos, the Gunners have a strong hold on the table right now. Alkmaar have only 2 points right now
Standard Liege 2-0 Olympiakos
Bezua (30') and Jovanovic (88') put the game away for Standard today. They are slowly narrowing the gap between them and 2nd place Olympiakos, which is down to 2 points. Olympiakos has 6, Standard 4.
