CL Group A-D Round 4 Preview

Group A

Bayern Munich vs Bordeaux

Bayern was defeated 2-1 by Bordeaux last round- they have to beat Bordeaux today if they want any chance of moving on from the group stages. Bordeaux is right now in 1st place with 7 points, while Bayern has 4. A win for Bayern would tie the two for first place, unless Juventus beat Maccabi Haifa, which would put Juve in first. Regardless, it's a defining game for both teams.

Juventus vs Maccabi Haifa

Juventus has the opportunity to push ahead to the top of the group should Bordeaux fail to get 3 points from their game tomorrow. Maccabi Haifa, who have 0 points from 3 games, are not exactly worthy contenders for the Italian giants. However, as Barca and Real are so acutely aware, upsets happen.

Group B

Besiktas vs VfL Wolfsburg

Besiktas have so far only scrounged one point from 3 games, from their tie against Wolfsburg last round. Wolfsburg have 4 and are in 2nd place behind clear leaders Man Utd.

Manchester United vs CSKA Moscow

United were only able to pull off a 1-0 win against the Russians, thanks to a late strike from Antonio Valencia. However, they are currently leading the table with 9 points in 3 games. Moscow is in 3rd place with 3.

Group C

Real Madrid vs AC Milan

Oh man I hope this is a good game. Real really needs to make a statement after their recent slump, and AC has to prove they can go on without Kaka. Milan topped the Spanish giants last round, defeating them 3-2, so Madrid is definitely be out for blood. Both are tied for 1st place with 6 points.

Marseille vs FC Zurich

Tied for 3rd place, this game will define a clear 3rd and 4th, unless there's a tie. Gabi Heize clinched a 2nd half goal during the teams' last meeting to give Marseille their first CL win.

Group D

Apoel Nicosia vs FC Porto

Apoel has only 1 point from 3 games while Porto is 3 points behind leader Chelsea. Porto defeated Apoel last round 2-1.

Atletico Madrid vs Chelsea

I'm almost willing to bet money that Atletico will lose, but as soon as I do they'll upset Chelsea. Highly unlikely, however. Chelsea are undefeated in their 3 previous games while Atletico is lucky to have the 1 point it has.
