Group A
Bordeaux 2-0 Bayern Munich
Bordeaux clinched their 3rd win in the group stages tonight, thanks to goals from Yoann Gourcuff (37') and Marouane Chamakh (90'). Bordeaux now leads the table with 10 points, 2 ahead of Juve and 6 ahead of Bayern.
Juventus 1-0 Maccabi Haifa
Mauro Camoranesi was the saving grace for Juve, scoring in the 45th minute. Unfortunate Maccabi have no wins in 4 games, while Juve are in 2nd place with 8 points.
Group B
VfL Wolfsburg 3-0 Besiktas
Misimovic (14'), Gentner (80'), and Dzeko (87') all netted goals for Wolfsburg today, securing their spot in 2nd place. Besiktas still only have 1 point in 4 games.
Manchester United 3-3 CSKA Moscow
United was lucky to scrape by with a tie today. They trailed 3-1 at the half. Dzagoev, Krasic, and Berezutsky all scored for Moscow in the 1st half, with Michael Owen leveling after Dzagoev's goal. By the grace of God Paul Scholes scored in the 84th minute and Shennikov gave up an unfortunate own goal in injury time to give United the tie. United lead the table with 10 points while Moscow are in 3rd place with 4.
Group C
AC Milan 1-1 Real Madrid
I'd have to give this game to Real, since Ronnie scored on a penalty kick 6 minutes after Karim Benzema rebounded Kaka's blocked shot. Yet again, they are both tied at the top of the table with 7 points. Bo-ring.
Marseille 6-1 FC Zurich
Six different players scored for Marseille, completely thrashing the same team that defeated AC Milan a few rounds ago. Marseille is stalking Madrid and Milan, just one point behind both leaders. Zurich have 3 points, from their singular win over Milan
Group D
FC Porto 1-0 Apoel Nicosia
Falcao salvaged the 3 points for Porto in the 84th minute to clinch the win. Since Chelsea failed to take 3 points from their game against Atletico Madrid, Porto is now 1 point behind Chelsea, firmly in 2nd place. Apoel continues on the bottom with 1 point.
Chelsea 2-2 Atletico Madrid
Considering most people were expecting this game to be a blowout in favor of Chelsea, a 2-2 tie is a huge step in the right direction for Atletico. It seems like new trainer Quique is doing very good things in Madrid so far. Although there's no chance of Atletico continuing in the tournament, they left in a positive manner. Kun Aguero and Didier Drogba netted both goals for their respective teams.
